Rest. Recover. Find a Handful of Quiet.

Welcome to the cottage.

It’s been a while since I’ve met you here at the Dutch door.

I welcome you to this place of rest, this place where I hope you experience a handful of quiet. This 1926 about boasts its original tongue and groove siding and interior shiplap.

It is a tiny wooden fortress just steps above the swirling waters of the Puget Sound. Here in this new year it has been blanketed with snow and pummeled with rains and high tides way above the norms. Still it stands, a refuge from the outer elements, It is a place of rest.

I welcome you to the cottage as an invitation to find rest. I invite you to join me in discovering a handful of quiet in your day to restore and renew your spirit. The act of restoration is bringing back to the original condition. Our original condition was to be quiet and intimate, face to face with God, the creator God who hovered over us at the beginning, cherishing us, giving us breath to make us a living being.

I hope to encourage you to find a handful of quiet in this space. I too have walked in storms, the storms of caregiving, parenting, and the pain of grief and loss. Here in this quiet place I have found restoration. I hope to bring moments of restoration and quiet to you.

“In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and trust is your strength.” Isaiah 30:15 ESV
